NanoHUB as Software Provider for Researchers

At CIDays Gerhald Klimeck demonstrated nanoHUB.org. In his talk he stated many times a focus of using nanoHUB for application access, publishing, and execution.

What I would like to know is: Has anyone looked at using gateways like nonoHUB as a software provider?  Keep the application access and publishing, but what if I want to make these applications available on Flux?

Why not focus community ability on domain specifics, such as applications and support,  and abstract that from generic resources like compute?  Can I as an admin request the nanoHUB software bundle?

Amendm:  Commenter Jen points out  you can get hubZERO, the software behind nanoHub from Purdue.
